This workshop is a great introduction to the world of garment making.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWe'll spend the day learning how to use a sewing pattern to make up a simple garment - choose between a top or a tunic. (If you'd rather make a unisex or men's garment you can make a pair of pj trousers instead.)\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis workshop is perfect for beginning sewists - perhaps you know how to use a sewing machine for curtains or quilting but would like to try your hand at garment making, or if you have taken my Patchwork Tote course this would be a great follow-on.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe price includes your sewing pattern but not the fabric - you'll need to buy that ahead of time and pre-wash it. You don't have to buy it from my shop, but it's best if you can at least pop round ahead of time to check how much and what type of fabric you'll need (we need your measurements for this.)\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThere are a maximum of four spaces so don't wait too long to book your spot!\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eYou'll spend the day in our Making Space, with full use of our Janome computerised sewing machines. Tea and coffee is available but you will need to bring your own lunch - or get something during the lunch break, we're right in the town centre!\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAll materials and sewing equipment will be provided for you.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe workshop is fairly accessible, but if you have any special requirements as far as access or seating goes please do get in touch and we'll see what we can do. \u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eYou can book your place using this listing or in person at the shop.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFor this workshop children over 14 are welcome as long as they are able to participate independently and contact details for a responsible adult who will be reachable on the day have been provided. There will be a lunch break during which time all participants will be able to go out and get a bite to eat or some fresh air - your child may be unsupervised during this time, please do not book if this is a problem for you.\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003eWe only run these workshops if enough places are filled. If you change your mind or circumstances mean that you can no longer take part, please let us know as soon as possible.
