Materials Kit for Noodlehead 'Plaid of My Dreams' Making Backpack

Make your own 'Plaid of My Dreams' canvas backpack!

We've taken the hassle out of sourcing all the right hardware, notions and materials and put together a kit containing everything you'll need to sew yourself a gorgeous and useful backpack.

The outer is made from a super quality art gallery cotton canvas featuring their 'Plaid of my Dreams' giant gingham print in black and cream with 5cm checks. For the lining we've gone for a pop of colour with an Art Gallery premium cotton Pure Solid in 'Rock Candy' pink. We've used black cotton webbing for the straps, black YKK bag zips for the main compartment and the inner pocket, silver Prym hardware and the inside is finished in a fuschia pink bias binding. To top it all off we've chosen a cute SA fabric label, which would look great as a finishing touch on the outside of your backpack.

We've made sure all the materials are high quality so that your sewing experience is as good as it can be and to make sure the bag will last - it's too cool not to!

Noodlehead patterns have excellent instructions and are great for beginners or those new to bag-making.

The kit contains:

• 80cm piece of Art Gallery cotton canvas 'Plaid of My Dreams' in Snow
  
• 1 yd of Art Gallery Pure Solid in 'Rock Candy' pink
• a 22" black YKK bag zip
• an 8" black YKK bag zip
• a set of Prym hardware in silver finish (2 x strap slider, 2x rectangle ring)
  
• 1m piece Vilene G700 medium-weight woven fusible interfacing in white
• 1m piece Vilene H250 medium weight non-woven fusible interfacing
• 40cm piece Vilene Style-Vil bag foam
• 2.3m of cotton 40mm webbing in black
• 1m of 25mm cotton webbing in black
• 3.2m of 25mm single fold bias binding in fuchsia (the pattern calls for double fold so you will need to iron it in half again.)
  
• optional: Making Backpack sewing pattern

All you'll need are your sewing equipment - a rotary cutter, self-healing mat and gridded ruler, sewing machine, some sort of marking tool (we like simple tailor's chalk) and polyester sew-all thread.

We have packaged this simply in tissue and brown paper.

Due to limited supply we are only making a few of these kits and they are only available in the UK.

NOTE: Noodlehead doesn't include pattern pieces for square or rectangular parts of the make, just the cutting measurements - we recommend a gridded ruler, cutting mat and rotary cutter to cut your pieces accurately!
