Merchant & Mills Quilted Jacquard Cotton 'Rushes'

Merchant & Mills' quilted cotton jacquard is a very popular autumn-winter fabric and rightly so! It's a layers of jacquard woven cotton fabric that's been quilted. There's no batting inside, it's all the thread ends that give this fabric the squish factor. The penultimate photo shows the back, which is a more open weave.

M&M advise to overlock your raw edges before sewing your project up to prevent fraying. The fabric is already pre-washed so you can get straight to sewing!

Perfect for quilted coats, jackets and gilets as well as various craft projects such as bags and throws. Merchant & Mills' Sidney Jumper sewing pattern is also perfect for this cloth.

We recommend not using this for something that will sit in direct sunlight.

For the first couple of washes, place the fabric in the washing machine drum at 30 or 40 degrees with a handful of table salt. This will help fix the dye to prevent it running.
Wash cool. Do not tumble. Shake out and dry flat. Iron cool.
