Sew House Seven: Romey Gathered Dress and Top

The Romey Gathered Dress & Top pattern was inspired by the Remy Raglan pattern. Beginning with the signature (Version #2) Remy keyhole neckline and loose fit, the waistline was shortened into an elegant empire waist with a gathered skirt or peplum and billowy gathered sleeves at bracelet length. Both dress versions (the knee or midi length) include patch pockets.

With its flowy and oversized fit, the Romey Gathered Dress and Top are contenders for "secret pajamas" that can be worn casually with sneakers, sandals or boots. Alternatively, sew one up in a slinkier fabric for a more polished look!

Fabrics: For a flowy and romantic dress or top with less volume, we suggest a drapey fabric such as rayon challis, ecovera challis, rayon/linen blends or sandwashed silk. For a fuller, cottagecore look, linen or cotton lawn is perfect.

Fit Guide: The Standard size range is fit on a base size 8 that is 5’6”-5’-7” tall and grades very slightly in height. It is fit on a B/C cup
The Curvy size range are fit on a base size 24 that is 5’6”-5’7” tall and does not grade in height. The cup size may be offered in C/D, E/F or G/H depending on the style. The shoulders on the Curvy range are narrower, the cups are fuller and the tummy and hips are rounder.
