Skill Builder Workshop Thursday 11th December 9.30am - 12.30pm - Re-usable Gift Bag

New: Skill Builder workshops are bite-sized workshops where you can make something cute out of fabric scraps AND learn a useful sewing skill. 

In this one you'll learn how to make a simple re-usable gift bag that you can use this Christmas instead of wrapping paper. You'll finish the gift bag with French seams, which are a great, sophisticated way of finishing your seams, especially on fine fabrics or if you don't have an overlocker.

There is an option for more advanced sewists to learn how to make a patchwork heart block - you can then use this to form your gift bag (or use it to start a bigger patchwork project if you prefer.) Be aware that if you choose this option you may not finish your gift bag in the time we have.

The session takes place on Thursday 11th December 9.30am - 12.30pm in my little workshop 'Making Space' in central Ulverston at Catkin & Scraps. All materials are included, though you are welcome to bring your own or buy some at the shop if you prefer to make your own selection.

The group is loosely tutored - which means I will be showing you how to do things and helping you, but also running the shop and serving customers, which can mean some time spent waiting - this depends on how busy the shop is.

Basic sewing supplies are available to use but feel free to bring your own if you have them to avoid waiting to use common items such as fabric scissors etc.

There are only four spaces available so it's wise to book ahead to secure your place, which you can do via this listing or in person at the Ulverston shop.

Once booked, if you change your mind or circumstances mean that you can no longer come, please let us know as soon as possible. Cancellations less than a week ahead and no-shows will not be refunded.

The workshop is fairly accessible, but if you have any special requirements as far as access or seating goes please do get in touch and we'll see what we can do.
